介词通常在特指的情况下，后面加the。但也有一些固定词组，不加the，如at home/school，at noon/night，in surprise，on duty/business/fire/sale/holiday等等。
另外，只有名词前可以加the，所以，如果介词后面接的不是名词的话，就一定不加the。如near here（接副词），look at me（接代词），in 2011（接数词），I am thinking about whether I'll go or not（接从句）。
词义辨析
at，in和on都可表示时间。at通常指确切的某个时刻，如at six o'clock；in通常表示一天的某一部分，如in the morning〔evening，afternoon〕；on则具体说明哪一天的上午或下午，如on Monday morning,on a summer's day。
在谈论月份、季节、年份或世纪时，通常用介词in,如in the eighteenth century在18世纪，in summer在夏天，in March在三月，in 1985在1985年。
