一、表达意思不同
1、dominate：统治，支配；在……中占首要地位；俯视，高耸于；占绝对优势。
2、dominant：占支配地位的，占优势的；（基因）显性的；显性（性状），显性基因。
二、词性不同
1、dominate：通常在句中作动词，修饰主语或宾语。
2、dominant：通常在句中既可以作名词，也可以作形容词。
