1、 to do 和 doing 是动词的两个不同的发展阶段，to do 表示还未发生，而doing表示正在发生，所以凡是需要表示还未发生的那么就接动词 to do， 凡是已经发生，或者正在发生的，那么就用动词doing。
2、to do 是不定式，doing是分词。前者要用动词原形，后者根据句子主语的主动被动关系可以选择现在分词和过去分词。
举例如下：
1、 stop talking. 请不要讲话。
talking 表示正在发生
2、 stop to talk. 停止（正在做的事情）开始讲话。
to talk 表示还未发生
3、 I will remember to tell her about it. 我会记得告诉她这件事的。
to tell 表示还未发生
4、 Don't you remember telling me the story yesterday? 你不记得昨天给我讲过这个故事吗?
telling me the story 这里当成一个件事
5、I like playing basketball. 我喜欢打篮球。
playing basketball 当成一个事件
